US to send Ukraine radar systems, naval equipment

This is part of the $ 200 mln package of extra defense aid that the Biden administration approved in late December

The U.S. government has been preparing to send Ukraine radar systems and naval equipment. It’s still uncertain, though, when the first supplies will reach this country. According to Politico, it’s a part of the USD 200 million worth package of extra defense assistance for Ukraine that the White House approved in late December 2021,

“Given the fact that the U.S. intelligence assumes that Russia could initiate a full-blown invasion, using all of its military might, this assistance would let Ukraine inflict extra damage to Russia, but it would not significantly change the outcome”, said the source in Ukraine’s presidential office.

Not a single unit from this package has been delivered in Ukraine yet. At the same time, in December 2021, Kyiv received small arms and ammunition within the second package of military assistance worth 60 million dollars.
