India to take delivery of first Russian S-400 air defense missile system at the end of this year

As the press office of Russia’s Rosoboronexport state arms seller told TASS earlier, Russia has been delivering S-400 Triumf air defense missile systems to India on schedule.

There are plans to deliver the first S-400 regiment set to India by the end of 2021. Indian servicemen have arrived in Russia to learn to operate the missile system.

New Delhi announced its plans to purchase S-400 systems in 2015. In October 2018, India had signed a USD 5 billion deal with Russia to buy five units of the S-400 air defense missile systems during a visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to India.
