Raytheon Intelligence and Space has completed the installation of its first global Aircrew Strategic Network Terminal (ASNT) system to upgrade the command and control capabilities of the US Air Force nuclear bomber fleet.

The ASNT technology uses extremely high frequency (EHF) and Advanced EHF waveforms to provide secure communications for the service’s nuclear bombers and support crews.

The solution has been developed to provide increased capabilities to present mission-deficient systems.

“These expanded capabilities will provide the critical data needed at the tactical edge to make smart decisions in near real time, including supporting the Defense Department’s Joint All Domain Command and Control initiatives for the joint services,” Denis Donohue, president of Communications & Airspace Management Systems at Raytheon Intelligence and Space said in a statement.

The primary work locations for the ASNT are in Florida and Massachusetts, while the major suppliers for the project are in California, Pennsylvania, and Texas.
