Belgium to acquire RGW90 Anti-Tank weapon systems
The Belgian military has awarded a $21.2 million contract to German firm Dynamit Nobel Defence (DND) to supply shoulder-fired RGW90 high-explosive anti-tank (HEAT) weapon systems.
The RGW90 is a 90-millimeter man-portable weapon for use by infantry and special forces to engage and destroy ground-based targets, including main battle tanks, lightly armored vehicles, fortified facilities, bunkers, and fixed shelters.
Currently used by many European and international armed forces, the anti-tank weapon system can be operated from confined spaces.
According to DND, the weapon system will help ensure that the Belgian military has a high level of operational capability for many years to come.
