British Army receives compact night vision goggles

The British Army has received the first trance of XACT Night Vision Goggles as part of an 11.5 million pound ($16.2 million) contract the UK Ministry of Defence awarded Elbit Systems UK in June.

The company supplied lightweight micro-binocular XACT nv33 in a helmet-mounted configuration with improved capabilities. The image intensifying goggles enhance surveillance and enable users to detect the enemy early, react quickly, and maintain a tactical edge at night.

The XACT nv33 is certified for driving vehicles, and also suitable for parachute jumping and maritime operations. It improves user safety, extends usage time, and reduces neck stress. However, its specialty remains to aid users’ abilities to act in dark conditions, even in complete darkness.
