The facility will employ about 150 people in engineering, business operations, and research and development. Its founders have seen growing demand for its electromagnetic pulse (EMP) weapon Leonidas, which is designed to defend against enemy drone attacks.

Epirus combines RF and microwave technology and artificial intelligence (AI) to create an electromagnetic pulse that can disrupt, disable, and destroy the electronic components of an enemy drone.

Epirus officials say their targeted microwave bursts can cast a wide net and take out swarms of drones all at once instead of just one at a time, or neutralize one drone in crowded spaces.
